USA Swimming Registration / Membership

Greeting YNS Families,

As we have entered into 2023, many of your Swimmers’ USA Swimming Registration/Memberships have expired, and some of you that are new to the Team (who moved up from PreTeam to Bronze) need to create your USA Swimming Account and get the Registration/Membership for your Swimmers. This Account is mandatory in order to participate in Swim Meets, including our Home Meet in two weeks!

It is important to keep in mind that you will technically have 3 different Accounts as a member of the swim team:

  1. YMCA – ActiveNet
    1. YMCA Registration/Membership
    2. Pay for Program/Group tuition
  2. YNS – TeamUnify
    1. Your Team Website account
    2. Receive communications, see best times, sign up for swim meets & events, browse entire website
  3. USA Swimming – SWIMS 3.0
    1. USA Swimming Registration/Membership
    2. Controls status of your swimmer within USA Swimming, check best times, other functions related to your swimmer only (not our team)

Everything below pertains to your USA SWIMMING Account ONLY!

For those who have already renewed:

  • To check your Account/Registration status
    • Login to your account: https://hub.usaswimming.org/landing
    • Look in the “My Family” box
    • Find your Swimmers Name, Click View
    • On the next page, there should be a box that says “Athlete - Good Standing”
    • If it doesn’t say “Athlete – Good Standing”, you need to renew your USA Swimming Registration/Membership, by clicking the Warning Icon, which should bring you directly to renewal
    • If you have already renewed, please send Coach Dave the receipt that you received and he will follow up with our NE Rep

For those NEW to Bronze or above:

  • Create your Parent’s USA Swimming Account
    • Go to: https://hub.usaswimming.org/landing
    • Click “Create a Login”
    • Follow the steps (Anything it asks for, make sure you input your parental information here)
      1. If you need help, there are a bunch of helpful articles linked underneath
    • Once you have finished creating your Parent Account…
  • Create your Swimmers Account & Pay for Registration/Membership
    • Go to: https://omr.usaswimming.org/omr/welcome/A2D14A69A3C57B
      1. This link is TEAM SPECIFIC to YNS, you must use this link only!
    • When it asks “Is this Membership for you or someone else”, choose “SOMEONE ELSE”
    • Follow the steps (Anything it asks for, make sure you input your SWIMMERS information)
    • When you get to select a Membership Type, choose “Premium Athlete”
      1. The cost should be $89.00
      2. This fee historically was included in Tuition/Program Fees, but with this new system, it has to be separated.
    • When completed, login to your Parent Account, check the “My Family” box, to make sure your Swimmer appears there.
  • Proof of Age Documents
    • Our Local Swimming Committee (LSC), which is New England Swimming, requires Proof of Age for every swimmer upon successful Registration
    • Please email Coach Dave (modzelewskid@northshoreymca.org) a copy of one of the following documents after you’ve completed your USA Swimming Registration/Membership:
      1. Passport Front Page
      2. Birth Certificate
    • DO NOT upload anything in USA Swimming when completing Registration/Membership

For those who need to RENEW Registration/Membership:

  • If you have a new SWIMS 3.0 Account
    • Click this link: https://omr.usaswimming.org/omr/welcome/A2D14A69A3C57B
    • Login, and complete the details for your swimmer
    • When it asks “Is this Membership for you or someone else”, choose “SOMEONE ELSE”
    • Choose “Premium Athlete” which costs $89, and Checkout
  • If you DO NOT have a new SWIMS 3.0 Account
    • Create your Parent’s USA Swimming Account
      1. Go to: https://hub.usaswimming.org/landing
      2. Click “Create a Login”
      3. Follow the steps (Anything it asks for, make sure you input your parental information here)

    • Once you have finished creating your Parent Account…
  • Create your Swimmers Account & Pay for Registration/Membership

This is a process that the Coaching Staff cannot do for you. However, if you stop by the Office, we can help walk you through it. It is recommended to complete this on a computer, not a cell phone.

Once this is complete, you can download the USA Swimming app to view your account.
