Greeting YNS Shark Family,
In this January Edition of our Monthly Newsletter, we have a wide variety of topics to cover. Each of which, we are sure will help guide you with more information.
Parent Meeting Zoom Call
- This past Wednesday, January 4, we held a Parent Zoom Meeting for all members of the Team to review a few things coming up between now and the end of the season, as well as review the team website, and answer any questions submitted in the survey. Here is a link which should take you to a Recording of the Meeting and the Slideshow that was presented.
January Snowball Session
- Due to the low number of visiting teams and the short timeline of each session, we will be combining the 13/Over & 12/Under Sessions for Saturday & Sunday as follows:
- If you can no longer attend, please email Coach Dave as soon as possible. The deadline to withdraw is Monday, 1/9/2023 @ 11:59pm.
- Saturday (13/Overs & 12/Unders):
- Arrive @ 2:45pm, Warm-Up @ 3:00pm
- Start @ 4:05pm, Finish by 6:50pm
- Sunday (13/Overs & 12/Unders):
- Arrive @ 2:45pm, Warm-Up @ 3:00pm
- Start @ 4:05pm, Finish by 6:15pm
January Snowball Meet - Parent Volunteers
- For those who signed up, Greg Dwyer will be reviewing what has been signed up for and filled, and updated information on Meet Volunteer Positions will be shared as soon as possible.
Meet Schedule Changes
- There have been a few updates/changes to our Meet Schedule since the December Emails came out. You can view our MASTER CALENDAR HERE.
- 2/11-12 – NSSC Specialty Meet: Located at St. John’s Prep in Danvers. (This replaces the CRA Meet located in Wellesley)
- 3/10-12 – NE 15-18 Age Group Championship: Located at WPI in Worcester. (This replaces the Maine Senior Championship which was the previous weekend…Maine Swimming has changed the date of their Meet which means that we can no longer attend)
- 3/24-26 – TBD – We are looking at Meets for all YNS Swimmers to attend as a final meet of the season for those not attending Y Nats or Florida. Stay tuned for more information.

- January Snowball – Registration CLOSED
- YNS 50’s Frenzy – Registration Closes on Sunday, 1/15/2023
- YMCA District Championship – Registration Closes on Wednesday, 1/18/2023
- Silver Championship – Still waiting for more information
- NSSC-SJP Specialty Meet – Will become available tonight Friday, 1/6/2023
- National Centennial Invite – Will become available tonight Friday, 1/6/2023
Pre-Championship Party Planning
- Planning has begun for Championship Parties at each YNS Swim Team location during the week of January 22-26.
- If you are interested in helping organize, please reach out to your site PAC Members: PAC Member List
USA Swimming Registration/Membership
- Earlier this week, everyone received an email explaining USA Swimming Registration/Membership.
- This is a mandatory Membership for all swimmers in Bronze, Silver, Gold, PreSenior, Senior, & Senior Elite.
- This is also mandatory in order to compete in the upcoming swim meets that we have scheduled and/or that you may have signed up for.
- Please review the step-by-step document for more information on the process.
