New England Swimming

11-14 Age Group Championship

Dave Modzelewski

On the weekend of March 2nd-March 5th, the Sharks competed at the New England Swimming Age Group Championships at the Boston Sports Institute in Wellesley, MA. We had 14 athletes from across Our Y of the North Shore Association come together and put forth a stellar performance over the course of the four days.

45 teams from across New England had scored in this meet, the Sharks placed a combined 11th. The boys and girls placed 10th and 14th respectively.

Over the course of the weekend, we had 76% best times achieved, with 29 individual swims in the finals sessions. Along with the handful of best times being achieved at this meet, new time standards including Age Groups, short course Zones, and Seniors were met.

Congratulations to Zoey Ceriello-Sachetta, Henry Chemel, Ian Chemel, Caroline Curtin, Grant Dwyer, Sydney Hemme, Luke Linehan, Charlie McLaughlin, Porter Mulgrew, Michelle Oh, Bennett Powers, Kelly Sandford, Addy Weldon, and Hazell Wright.

Plenty of laughs, fun, and fast swimming was had, and we look forward to continuing the short course championship season. Up next, we will be competing at the YMCA New England Championships at WPI. Following, we will have swimmers competing at YMCA Nationals in Greensboro NC, the National Centennial Invite in Port Charlotte FL, and the Eastern Zone Age Group Championship in Webster NY.
