Long Course Season Kickoff

Dave Modzelewski

Good Evening YNS Families!

As we prepare for our first day of the Long Course Season tomorrow, Tuesday April 11th, we wanted to start you off with as much information as possible to get you prepared for what is in store ahead.

Thank you to everyone who completed our Long Course Season Registration, we appreciate your willingness to help us plan for the Season!

Squad Placements

  • Make sure you know which Practice Group your swimmer has been placed in
  • Please attend the correct practice for that group! (Our pool space is allocated based on how many kids are in each group, so even 1-2 swimmers coming at the wrong time could throw it off)

Practice Schedules

  • Make sure you have seen the NEW Practice Schedules
  • We have had many different things to take into consideration when creating these schedules, while trying to keep them as consistent as possible for your family schedules
  • Please note when the Practice Schedule states “@ GBY”. This means that the practice is being held at the Sterling Y (Greater Beverly YMCA), and is the only option being held for that group on that particular day (no local option).
    • We are trying to expose as many swimmers to the Long Course 50M Pool as we can without relying on Saturday practices (most of which get taken away due to Swim Meets anyway)
  • Again, please attend the correct practice at the correct time for your Swimmer and their Practice Group.

Stroke Clinic Week

  • Our Stroke Clinic is being held during Spring Break Week (4/17-4/21)
  • There will NOT be regular practice this week. The Stroke Clinic is the only swimming option
  • Please check out the event on the Team Website for details and to Sign-Up

Meet Sign-Ups

  • We have 2 of our Home Meets currently available for Sign-Up.
  • We ask that you let us know which days your Swimmer is available during sign-up (you can view the Day/Session in the Meet Info by clicking the Meet Name)
  • After you let us know which days they’ll be there, the Coaches will then select the appropriate events for each swimmer.
    • PLEASE do not select days/sessions based on which events are being held that day. We want all Swimmers to experience a variety of events throughout every season.

Putting a Credit Card on your TeamUnify Account

  • As we have gone through Registration and as many of you have been signing up for Swim Meets, we have noticed quite a few outstanding balances from Meet Fees on accounts.
  • TeamUnify billing is for Team Events/Swim Meets only and is not related to Program/Registration Fees that the YMCA bills through ActiveNet
  • Please check your TeamUnify Account to make sure you have a Credit Card on file.
  • Invoices are automatically emailed/billed on the 1st of the month, and ARE NOT changeable.
  • If you do not add a Credit Card to your account, and your balance is over 60 days past due, you will not be allowed to Sign-Up for Swim Meets.
