LC Season Review - Week 6
Greetings YNS Families!
In this Weekly Review please a number of important topics related to Practices this week and next week, some events we have coming up, as well as some important dates to keep in mind as we move through the Summer!
Practice Schedule Changes
- Wednesday, May 24th
- Due to the Magic Show, practices have been altered at each YNS Location. Please see the link below for more information about your Local Practice Schedule:

- Regular Practice Schedule
- Beverly (Which includes these groups from ALL LOCATIONS)
- Senior Elite/Senior – 7:00am-9:30am
- PreSenior – 7:00am-9:30am
- Gold – 7:30am-9:30am
- Ipswich ONLY
- PreTeam – 8:00am-9:00am
- Beverly (Which includes these groups from ALL LOCATIONS)
- Regular Practice Schedule
- Sunday, May 28th
- Due to no practice on May 29th for Memorial Day, we will be adding a practice on Sunday Morning
- Senior Elite/Senior: 6:30am-8:00am
- PreSenior: 6:30am-8:00am
- These above groups at ALL LOCATIONS should attend
- Due to no practice on May 29th for Memorial Day, we will be adding a practice on Sunday Morning
- Monday, May 29th – Memorial Day
- NO PRACTICE at any YNS Location due to Memorial Day.
- Friday, June 2nd
- Due to the Swim Meet in Wilton, there will be an altered Practice Schedule. Further information is TBD at the moment and will be released later this week!
Meet Sign-Ups
- YNS June Prelims/Finals Meet
- Dates: June 2nd – June 4th
- Location: Sterling YMCA, Beverly MA
- We are looking for A LOT more swimmers to attend in order to successfully operate and run a Swim Meet!!
- Please sign up to attend! There are a limited number of Swim Meets on our Summer Calendar!
- YNS July Sharks Frenzy
- Dates: July 7th – July 9th
- Location: Sterling YMCA, Beverly MA
- YNS PreTeam Summer Showcase
- Date: Sunday, July 23rd
- Location: Lynch van Otterloo YMCA, Marblehead MA
- All PreTeam Swimmers should consider attending as this is an evaluation opportunity to move up to our Bronze Group!
Championship Meets

- Dates: July 13th – 16th
- Location: Brown University, Providence RI
- For Qualified Swimmers Only

- No, the dates are NOT A TYPO! They are running the 10/Under Champs Meet in between the Sessions of Senior Champs!

- No Qualifying Times, but must Swimmers have competed in at least 2 Swim Meets during this Long Course Season

- Will be released soon! I know we mentioned it would be out by now, but some things have slightly changed and we needed to update it
- We know some school may release their students later than this date, but we are bound by the scheduling of the pool. If there are some conflicts, we can work through them until all schools let out
Sharks in the News!
About a month ago, Coach Dave and Leanne Smith (YNS Para Swimming Athlete) attended a Meet in Minnesota during our Stroke Clinic Week. This Meet made Leanne eligible for the Team USA Para Swimming World Championship Team, which she was nominated and selected to a few weeks ago!
Early last week, Coach Dave was also nominated and selected to be a Coach on the Team USA Para Swimming World Championship Team Staff!
The week of June 13th-18th, Dave and Leanne will be traveling to the USOPC in Colorado Springs for Team USA National Team Camp and a Swim Meet. Later in July/August they will be traveling to Manchester, England for the Para Swimming World Championships! (There will be some Beverly Practice Schedule changes due to this, but we’ll let everyone know well in advance)
