Gearing up for LC Season!

Greetings YNS Families!

As we get ready for the LC Season approaching, here are a few reminders, updates, and changes that you need know about!

Coaching Update

There have been a few changes to who is coaching which groups at all of our locations.

The biggest change amongst these is that Coach Jackie will be out for an extended period. That being said, Coach Dede, Coach Laura, and Coach Daria will be filling in with our Bronze, Silver, and Gold groups more often than before.

Also, Coach Daria! Coach Daria has been learning the ropes alongside Jackie and myself over the last few weeks of the Short Course Season. Coach Daria swam on YNS at our Salem branch a few years ago and she is looking forward to assisting our current Coaching Staff more in Beverly and soon in Ipswich. Please welcome Daria when you see her!

Each Practice Schedule will also list which Coach you can expect at practice.

Practices begin on TUESDAY, April 2nd!

We will be posting new Practice Schedules in the next day or so. Most practice days and times are exactly the same. Any changes will be communicated to you by your Lead Site Coach.

Roster Groups / Move Ups

Please remember that we take a lot of time to determine the best environment for each and every YNS Swimmer before moving them and keeping them where they are. The goal is to keep friends together while also getting the best possible progression of learning and performance for each swimmer. This is a delicate balance that we take very seriously. If you have questions, please talk with your swimmer first, and then feel free to reach out to your Lead Site Coach.

Swim Meet / Event Schedule

Our Long Course Meets & Events Schedule is now complete! We will be sending out A LOT of sign-up emails over the next few days. Please check each one and sign-up immediately if you are interested and/or available. The Registration Deadline is April 12th for many of them…which is coming up very soon!

Spring Break Stroke Clinic

During the week of April 15th-19th, we will be conducting our Annual YNS Stroke Clinic. All details will be in the Event when it is created.

We will have a former coach from the University of Texas Longhorns, USC Trojans, and Assistant Coach of the International Swim League joining us for 3 days during the week to impart as much swimming knowledge as possible in a short time. We will have pool sessions as well as classroom sessions, and even a College Recruiting Session for Parents and Swimmers. This Clinic is currently only open to YNS Swimmers. Please look for the sign-up when it is released!

Congratulations to all of Sharks on completing a fantastic Short Course Season, and GOOD LUCK to those still competing next week at YMCA National Championships in Greensboro, NC!
